Suburban Court Services: This program provides victim support services to victims and witnesses of violent crimes in Sylvania and Maumee, two of the Municipal Courts in suburban Lucas County. By working with law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, the courts, and probation departments, Suburban Courts' Services makes the criminal justice system more "user friendly" to victims of violent crime. No other program in Lucas County provides the same services as Suburban Courts' Services. Victim Advocates thoroughly explain the criminal justice system to victims, notify victims of their rights, are present in court with victims throughout the process, and offer assistance to victims writing impact statements. The advocates also assist victims applying for the Victims of Crime Compensation Program.
